"Dr. Henry not only provides cutting-edge orthodontia but he is truly kind, compassionate, and caring. Fortunately, I was referred to him for evaluation of extreme malocclusion, TMJ, and facial pain. Previous braces did not help and other orthodontists recommended extensive jaw reconstruction. Given that I had received many different treatments to relieve the pain without much success I was cautiously optimistic but was at a point I was willing to give anything a try. In short, I have been amazed by the outcome!
Dr. Henry and Vikki spend an extended time with me explaining lingual braces, and the treatment process, reviewing my images, and discussing a treatment plan. Dr. Henry is meticulous in his treatment planning and decision-making. He studies the latest treatment approaches and is very thoughtful and thorough as he examines your teeth and bite to determine the best way to move your teeth without causing a worsening of TMJ and facial pain. I have now been wearing lingual braces for about 1 year and cannot believe the difference – my molars touch and my teeth fit the way they should. Prior to Dr. Henry’s lingual braces, I couldn’t chew and essentially ate a liquid or soft diet. Now my teeth are functional and eating and chewing is feasible. Oh, and my teeth look beautiful too. "If I could give Dr. Howard Henry and his staff 10 stars, I absolutely would. I've been a patient of theirs for years. To begin with, they treat you like family. Dr. Henry himself is one of the kindest people I've met, and the same goes for his staff. I had braces as an adolescent and was not compliant with my retainers after my initial treatment. I was also a chronic mouth breather which caused changes to my jaw alignment. Subsequently an adult, I developed a malocclusion which was causing me atrocious TMJ, in addition to an asymmetry in my facial structure from jaw movement. I could have needed surgery, but fortunately, Dr. Henry knew how to treat my case non-surgically.
Dr. Henry is the best of the best - and why is that? It's not only because of his incredible bedside manner. He goes above and beyond to master cutting-edge treatment plans. Dr. Henry heavily invests his time and energy extensively in training, all around the world, staying up to date with the most sophisticated treatment modalities. I have met very few professionals as committed to their craft as Dr. Henry is, and this is very apparent in his outcomes.
When Dr. Henry suggested lingual braces for my case, I was pleasantly surprised, because this is not something that many orthodontists offer. This is a cutting-edge treatment, especially for the significant amount of movement required for my malocclusion. However, Dr. Henry had done these on many, many adult patients, and his results were superb. We had a lengthy initial consultation where he showed me the outcomes of cases that, as a doctor, I was blown away by. It was absolutely impressive that he was able to treat these cases so beautifully with a non-surgical approach. Many of his patients would have needed surgery if they had not been saved by Dr. Henry's novel approaches.
Before my treatment, I had intense TMJ pain that was bothersome, to say the least, to deal with. He put me at ease during my entire treatment. I am an out-of-town patient from Los Angeles and chose to make the trip for each appointment because I did not want to settle for anyone but the best orthodontist. My treatment has been completed, and my jaw is at ease, I no longer have TMJ, and my facial shape has tremendously improved. "As a child, I had braces for crooked teeth, but my cross bite was never corrected. As I aged my teeth started to shift and get very worn. I went to 2 Orthodontists in the 90s who told me I would probably need jaw surgery before I could get braces. Upon moving to AZ I discussed my problems with my new dentist. "Before I met Dr. Henry, every orthodontist I met with told me the only way to fix my issue was with surgery. My dentist (and long-time family friend) pleaded with me to meet with Dr. Henry since my jaw/teeth were so bad. I let him know surgery was not an option for me for several reasons and the appt was pointless. He insisted and I am so grateful he did! Dr. Henry was honest with me from the beginning about it being a long process with what we were starting with. Surgery would have been the quicker option, but he was confident he could fix everything if I was willing to give him the time needed. Seeing the before and after pictures proves it has been worth every step in the process. He is very thorough and watching his brain work while watching him process what he's working with at each visit is fascinating. He has a genius brain at moving the puzzle pieces.
And most offices you go to, the front office staff is unpleasant and often makes you want to find another office just so you aren't stuck dealing with them. The doctor could be great but if the staff handling every other aspect of your business with them is terrible, you'll find somewhere else. Every employee I've ever encountered is wonderful! Sometimes I show up a little early or stay a few after just to catch up with the ladies on life, vacations, furbabies, and kiddos. They make you feel like family. I think it also speaks volumes about Dr. Henry's character that his staff has been with him 20+ years, one has been with him 27 years. No one stays with an employer that long if they do not feel appreciated or feel they are not treating their patients/clients with honesty and quality treatment. If you are hesitant, don't be. It has been worth every step and I wouldn't change anything. He is the reason I have the confidence to smile big!" - Kellie
